THE SHORT ANSWER

Our take

The NexiGo PJ06 is a small native-720p projector whose documented 80 ANSI lumens set a narrow, dim-room use case. It makes sense for occasional small-screen viewing when portability matters, but its light output should not be mistaken for a bright living-room or outdoor-at-dusk solution.

Consider it for

Small-scale portable viewing in a darkened room when a 720p image and a separate content source are acceptable.

Look elsewhere if

Avoid it for ambient-light viewing, a large screen, fine presentation text, native Full HD, or built-in streaming apps.

Pros & cons

What could work for you, and what to consider before buying.

What works in its favor

  • NexiGo states the native 1280 × 720 panel and 80 ANSI-lumen rating on its own support page.
  • HDMI and USB connections allow a separate laptop, console, or local media source.
  • A compact portable form, tripod thread, and included stereo speaker support casual temporary setups.

What to weigh up

  • The 80 ANSI-lumen rating makes a dark room and modest image size central to a usable picture.
  • The 720p native panel has less detail than Full HD or 4K products.
  • Streaming services require an external HDMI player; the support source does not document an integrated app platform.

What the features mean for you

A clearly bounded portable viewing role

NexiGo's official support page calls the PJ06 a mini portable projector and describes movie and cartoon use. That makes the model a reasonable option to compare when a small device needs to move between a bedroom, a family room, or a temporary setup. Portability by itself does not promise battery operation; the saved support material does not verify cordless use, so plan for the supplied power arrangement unless a matching manual proves otherwise. The product page's own recommendation is a dimmer environment, which should guide expectations more than broad marketing phrases such as home theater or outdoor viewing.

Native 720p keeps supported input separate from output

The official PJ06 page states a native 1280 × 720 resolution and separately refers to Full HD or 4K compatible source material. A projector can accept a higher-resolution signal and scale it to its panel; that does not make the panel native Full HD or native 4K. At small image sizes, the distinction may be acceptable for casual video, but desktop text, subtitles, and detailed graphics will show less native detail than on a 1080p model. Buyers who want a higher pixel count should compare the panel resolution itself, not the highest supported signal.

The 80 ANSI-lumen rating is the practical limit

NexiGo explicitly lists 80 ANSI lumens and its support page warns that daylight use is not recommended. This value can be compared with other ANSI-labeled model specifications, but it should not be read as a measurement of a used unit today. Screen size and room light still matter: enlarging the picture spreads the available light across more area, while ambient light lowers perceived contrast. For that reason, the PJ06 should be shortlisted for a darkened room and conservative image size rather than as a unit for a bright classroom, living room, or outdoor gathering with competing light.

Keep placement and correction within the manual

The support page describes images from roughly 24 to 118 inches and a tripod thread, but the source reviewed here does not establish ultra-short-throw geometry or optical lens shift. A tripod can help set height and direction; it does not change the projector's optical throw or guarantee a square image. Measure the distance needed for the diagonal you want and verify the manual's focus and correction controls before mounting. Digital keystone can trade away image detail, so a perpendicular position and a level support remain preferable to using correction at an extreme angle.

Use an external source for streaming services

NexiGo's own FAQ explains that Netflix can be played through a TV stick or another HDMI source such as a laptop. The model specification lists HDMI and USB, along with 3 W stereo speakers, and does not document an integrated streaming system. A separate player therefore needs its own power, cable, and service access. The built-in speakers may be convenient for a short informal session, but their rating does not establish room-filling sound. Buyers who care about dialogue or group listening should consider external audio compatibility and the projector's small-room role.

Check the actual unit before buying used

The support page contains model-level specifications, not a report about any particular PJ06 listing or its current condition. A used example needs inspection for focus uniformity, dust, fan behavior, connector condition, remote operation, and any missing power accessories. The official page also identifies the PJ06 as discontinued in its product materials, so replacement parts and exact included items should be confirmed before committing to a setup. These checks are especially relevant for a small projector because its intended dim-room niche leaves little spare brightness if the optical path or light source has degraded.

What else to compare

For a portable battery projector with a different source profile, compare iCODIS C1; for substantially more resolution and output in a fixed room, compare Epson Home Cinema 3100, while noting that its lumen figures use ISO and IDMS methods rather than ANSI.

Before you buy

Is the PJ06 native 1080p?

No. NexiGo lists native 1280 × 720; higher-resolution compatibility describes input support, not extra panel pixels.

Can the PJ06 stream Netflix by itself?

NexiGo's FAQ says to connect a TV stick, laptop, or other HDMI source to stream Netflix content.

Is 80 ANSI lumens suitable for daytime viewing?

NexiGo advises against daylight use and recommends dimmer conditions for the PJ06's 80-ANSI-lumen image.
