Our take
The IN8606HD is a documented Full HD lamp projector for a wired theater room. Its useful distinction is the combination of a named 2500-ANSI rating, manual zoom, and two HDMI inputs, while its 4,500-hour Standard lamp estimate says nothing about the remaining life of a particular unit.
A fixed wired home-theater room needing Full HD, a verified ANSI figure, and multiple source connections..
Look elsewhere for a native 4K image, UST placement, integrated apps, a laser light source, or a model whose current lamp condition is already verified.
Pros & cons
What could work for you, and what to consider before buying.
What works in its favor
- InFocus lists native 1920 × 1080 DLP and 2500 ANSI lumens in Standard mode.
- Two HDMI inputs sit alongside VGA, S-Video, composite, and component connections.
- The manual 1.5× zoom and 1.39–2.09:1 range give measurable placement flexibility.
What to weigh up
- Its replaceable lamp requires an exact-unit hour and condition check.
- The 2000 ANSI Eco rating is lower than the Standard figure, so mode matters to any brightness comparison.
- The saved source documents external inputs rather than streaming apps or battery operation.

Full review: how the features affect your choice
What the features mean for you
Native Full HD and 3D define the image path
The manufacturer-authored sheet identifies a native 1920 × 1080 DLP imaging system and support for Full HD 3D formats. That gives a buyer a clear picture-format reference instead of relying on a supported-input label. The projector is not native 4K, and a larger incoming signal cannot add physical pixels to its image. If 3D is a deciding feature, verify the source format, emitter or glasses path, and exact accessories; those package details are not guaranteed by a model specification alone.
Compare its brightness by mode and method
InFocus labels the Standard-mode figure as 2500 ANSI lumens and the Eco figure as 2000 ANSI lumens. Those mode-specific ratings can be compared with other ANSI-labeled models more directly than an unqualified lumen claim, but they are not measurements of a used lamp today. Eco mode trades some output for a different operating setting. A buyer with a fixed threshold should check which mode the threshold assumes and inspect lamp hours, image brightness, and color uniformity on the actual unit.
Measure the throw before mounting
The datasheet gives a conventional 1.39–2.09:1 throw range with 1.5× manual optical zoom. Use the screen width and planned lens-to-screen distance to check that the projector fits before deciding on a shelf or ceiling mount. Digital correction can change the image shape but is not a substitute for the required optical distance. This model is not ultra-short-throw, and the checked packet does not establish optical lens shift, so the mount should align with the screen rather than depend on undocumented lens movement.
Two HDMI inputs reduce source swapping
The model sheet lists two HDMI inputs as well as VGA, S-Video, composite, component, and audio connections. That can help a fixed room keep more than one wired source attached, including older devices that still use analog video. InFocus calls this a home-theater projector, but the exact sources do not identify a built-in streaming platform. Plan an external streaming player if apps are needed and verify its HDCP, audio, and cable path with the installed receiver or sound system.
Lamp estimates are not a condition report
InFocus lists 4,500 hours in Standard mode and 6,000 hours in Eco, but a model estimate cannot establish how much life remains in a used projector. Ask for the on-screen lamp-hour count and inspect focus, dust, image uniformity, both HDMI inputs, remote operation, and fan behavior. The 10 W mono speaker is available for basic sound, while a separate sound system may be more suitable for a dedicated room. Verify compatible 3D eyewear separately if that format is part of the plan.
Compare for your needs
Epson Home Cinema 3020e also offers Full HD and 3D, plus a documented wireless HD transmitter package, while its brightness uses Epson's stated color/white methods rather than an ANSI label. BenQ HT2550 adds 4K UHD output and 2200 ANSI lumens at a conventional throw.

Before you buy
Is the IN8606HD native 1080p?
Yes. InFocus lists native 1920 × 1080 DLP resolution; higher input formats do not change that native image grid.
Does the 2500-lumen figure use ANSI?
Yes. The manufacturer datasheet labels Standard mode 2500 ANSI lumens and Eco mode 2000 ANSI lumens.
Does it include built-in streaming apps?
The exact-model sources document physical source inputs and 3D, not an integrated streaming-app platform.

The decision
Choose the IN8606HD for a measured Full HD wired layout; verify throw and lamp condition instead of treating its model rating as present performance.
