THE SHORT ANSWER

Our take

The InFocus IN26+ is a lamp-based DLP presentation projector for a room that needs short throw and a clearly stated brightness specification. Its manufacturer-authored sheet gives native XGA 1024 × 768, up to 2,400 ANSI lumens, 1.1× manual zoom, and a 0.57–0.63:1 ratio. This is a short-throw design, not an ultra-short-throw wall unit. The model may suit legacy slides or computer use, but its age, lamp state, source connections, and current image must be checked on the specific unit.

Consider it for

A measured legacy classroom or meeting room with short throw distance and compatible sources.

Look elsewhere if

It is not for native Full HD movies, battery operation, a flush-to-wall cabinet, or buyers unwilling to inspect an older lamp projector.

Pros & cons

What could work for you, and what to consider before buying.

What works in its favor

  • InFocus-authored documentation identifies native XGA and up to 2,400 ANSI lumens.
  • The 0.57–0.63:1 lens brings the projector close to the screen.
  • A 1.1× manual zoom gives a small amount of placement flexibility.

What to weigh up

  • The 1024 × 768 panel is not native HD or widescreen.
  • The lamp's remaining life and current optical condition depend on the individual unit.
  • A short-throw lens still needs distance and is not a near-wall UST design.

What the features mean for you

XGA is suited to legacy presentation content

The sheet specifies native 1024 × 768 XGA. This 4:3 image shape can work with older presentation material and standard computer layouts, but widescreen video will be letterboxed or cropped according to the source setup. Small type and detailed Full HD content will not resolve like they do on a modern 1080p panel. Choose it when the room's expected slides and existing equipment matter more than widescreen cinema detail. Supported input formats should not be mistaken for native panel resolution.

ANSI brightness is documented, but an old lamp is variable

InFocus lists up to 2,400 ANSI lumens, a useful measured basis for comparison with other ANSI-rated models. The word up to describes the model's rated mode, not the output of a particular used projector. Lamp hours, replacement quality, dust, and selected picture mode all affect current performance. Ask for the lamp counter and a photo of a projected white field, and inspect color uniformity and focus. The rating supports a presentation role, but it cannot replace a physical check of an older unit.

The lens shortens the room distance

The 0.57–0.63:1 ratio is notably shorter than a conventional 1.5:1 meeting-room lens. It can reduce shadows in a classroom or let a presenter stand nearer the screen. Still, it is not a UST model designed to sit right beside the wall. Measure the lens-to-screen distance for the planned image width and verify the projector's offset before mounting. The 1.1× manual zoom allows limited adjustment, not a broad placement range. Do not assume digital keystone can substitute for the right physical position.

Lamp operation and inputs favor an installed room

The source identifies a DLP lamp projector with manual zoom. That makes lamp condition and replacement history part of the purchase decision. The product sheet describes computer and video connectivity, but this is not a battery model and the saved documentation does not establish an integrated app platform. Plan to use a computer or external media source, confirm the exact ports on the unit, and account for adapters if a newer laptop does not share them. A low-cost used projector can require extra work to connect to current devices.

Buy around a known room, not a generic feature list

IN26+ is most credible when the mounting distance, screen shape, and input requirements are already known. Its close lens, ANSI rating, and legacy XGA format answer specific installation needs; they do not make it a universally current projector. Inspect model label, lens, lamp counter, remote, cable panel, fan, and a full image before relying on any listing. The tagged Amazon destination searches for IN26+ by model and does not identify a particular seller, condition, or bundle. Check that the offer is not a nearby IN24+ variant.

What else to compare

For a compact short-throw LED design, compare Optoma ML1050ST+. For current native Full HD home viewing, compare Epson Home Cinema 2000.

Before you buy

Is the IN26+ native 1080p?

No. InFocus identifies native XGA at 1024 × 768; higher signal support does not change the panel.

Does its short-throw lens sit right against the wall?

No. The 0.57–0.63:1 lens is short throw, but the planned image still needs a measured gap.

Can its 2,400 ANSI rating be assumed for a used unit?

No. It is a model rating; lamp hours and current optical condition must be checked separately.

Where can I check the current price?
