Our take
Great States 304-14 is a 14-inch manual reel mower with a five-blade assembly, a 1-to-1.75-inch height range, 10-inch wheels, and a maker-listed weight of 21 pounds. Its compact path and low cut settings distinguish it from powered rotary mowers, but the operator supplies all forward movement. The exact model is confirmed by American Lawn Mower Company; the source row is an Amazon Renewed offer, and the maker page does not validate that seller's refurbishment, condition, or included accessories. Treat the review as a comparison of the base mower.
A buyer specifically seeking a compact manual reel for maintaining short turf and willing to check the exact renewed offer's condition and included parts..
Choose another mower if you want a powered drive, a high maximum cut, a documented grass bag, a battery kit, or a seller-verified refurbishment and package.

Full review: how the features affect your choice
What the features mean for you
Manual power changes how to plan the route
American Lawn Mower describes this Great States model as a man-powered reel mower. There is no engine, battery platform, or cord to manage, but every pass depends on the operator pushing the mower. That can suit a buyer who explicitly wants a simple manual format and has a route appropriate for reel mowing. It does not answer whether the mower will feel easy on a particular lawn, because turf height, terrain, and user effort are not measured in the cited product page. The professional profile records manual power and leaves battery attributes inapplicable.
A narrow 14-inch path favors compact areas
The maker lists a 14-inch cutting width, which is the smallest deck-width figure among these six additions. A narrower reel can be easier to compare for a yard with tight passages, though actual fit also depends on the mower's full dimensions and obstacles. The page reports 10-inch wheels and a 21-pound weight. Those are manufacturer specifications, not a guarantee that pushing will be effortless or that the mower will be the fastest choice. If you need a wider path, compare it with 16-inch options such as model 1725-16GC.
The height range is unusually specific and low
American Lawn Mower lists a cut-height range from 1 to 1.75 inches. This gives a shopper concrete endpoints to compare against the yard's intended mowing height. The page does not state how many positions lie within that range, so a requirement for a particular number of steps cannot be confirmed. The maker also describes a five-blade, three-spider ball-bearing reel made from alloy steel. It positions the design as a traditional reel cut; no controlled comparison or claim about superior finish is made.
Collection and alternate clipping modes stay unknown
The reviewed exact-model page does not establish a grass catcher, bag capacity, side-discharge chute, or alternate mulch setup for model 304-14. That means buyers who require a specific collection mode should treat the unknown as unresolved rather than assume the renewed offer contains a compatible accessory. The five-blade reel still gives a useful manual-cut identity, but it does not satisfy a hard side-discharge or large-bag threshold in this finder. Confirm any accessory shown by the seller against the exact model before relying on it.
Renewed condition is separate from model facts
The source row describes an Amazon Renewed listing, while American Lawn Mower's page verifies only the base Great States model. It does not certify the individual mower's wear, refurbishment work, included documentation, or return terms. The maker lists a 21-pound weight, 14-inch width, and cutting range, but those specifications do not tell us the state of a used or renewed machine. Check the seller's condition details and package contents, and make sure the exact label reads 304-14 before ordering.
