Our take
The Avolusion Mini HDDGear Pro HD250U3-X1-PRO-2TB-PS is a narrowly documented option for a buyer who wants a portable 2TB hard disk listed for PS4, PS4 Slim, or PS4 Pro. The exact-model page also describes USB 3.0 and USB bus power, so the stated setup does not need a separate AC adapter. The evidence is an older cached retailer snapshot, however. It does not establish PS5 or Xbox compatibility, a current Amazon offer, present computer operating-system support, or the condition of a particular drive. Choose it for the named PS4-family fit only after checking the complete model suffix and actual seller offer.
A portable nominal 2TB game-storage setup for a buyer using a listed PS4-family console who can verify the exact suffix and actual offer.
Buyers who require documented PS5 or Xbox support, USB 2.0 host compatibility, a verified current Amazon listing, measured game-loading performance, current computer OS support, or certainty about a used drive's condition and included cable.
Pros & cons
What could work for you, and what to consider before buying.
What works in its favor
- The saved exact-model listing identifies a black 2TB portable HDD with the full HD250U3-X1-PRO-2TB-PS code.
- It names PS4, PS4 Slim, and PS4 Pro and describes the drive as preformatted for that console family.
- USB 3.0 and USB bus power make the described configuration compact without a separate AC adapter.
What to weigh up
- The available source is a cached historical page and does not establish PS5 or Xbox support.
- Two terabytes is nominal capacity; formatting and console-managed storage reduce the space available for games.
- Current Amazon identity, current package contents, computer OS support, and the health of an individual unit remain unknown.

What the features mean for you
Check the entire model suffix
The supported identity in the saved listing is HD250U3-X1-PRO-2TB-PS. The final PS suffix matters because the same Avolusion family also includes a distinct white HD250U3-WH-1TB-XBOX configuration. The -PS source names PS4, PS4 Slim, and PS4 Pro; the -XBOX source names Xbox One, One S, and One X. Those are separate model records, and a shared enclosure family or USB connector does not transfer one console setup to the other. Compare the full code in the offer and, for a used unit, on its label. Historical ASIN B0848JYQBZ remains a source-row clue, not a verified current Amazon mapping.
Treat the documented console scope as PS4-family only
The retailer page says the drive is preformatted for PS4 and lists PS4 Original, PS4 Slim, and PS4 Pro. That is the useful distinction for a buyer in that console family, but it is not evidence for PS5 or Xbox. The saved source does not document either newer-generation path for this exact SKU. Console software, port behavior, and a used drive's existing format can affect setup, so follow the instructions for the actual console and confirm it recognizes the drive before moving a library. If support beyond the named PS4 models is essential, this profile cannot resolve that requirement.
Plan around nominal 2TB, not guaranteed free space
The exact-model listing identifies a 2TB hard disk. That gives more nominal capacity than the separate 1TB Xbox-oriented Avolusion configuration, but it does not tell you how many games fit: install sizes vary, updates use room, and formatting or console-managed data lowers usable space. List the games you expect to keep and leave a margin before deciding the drive is large enough. The source's USB 3.0 label describes the interface, not measured loading or transfer performance. No benchmark for this drive and a particular PS4 was saved, so capacity is a documented comparison point while speed remains unknown.
USB 3.0 and bus power affect placement
The saved page specifies USB 3.0 and USB bus power, which means the described setup uses the console connection rather than a separate AC adapter. That can simplify placement beside a console and avoid reserving a wall outlet. It still depends on a working cable and a suitable, functioning host port. This exact page does not establish USB 2.0 host support, so do not infer backward compatibility from the USB 3.0 label. The seller's package description names a four-foot USB cable and quick guide, but that is not a promise about another marketplace seller or a secondhand drive; check the actual offer contents.
Portable size helps fit but says little about durability
The listing describes a portable 2.5-inch enclosure and gives its size in inches. That helps a buyer judge whether it can sit near a console, but it does not establish a drop rating, water resistance, heat behavior, noise level, or long-term reliability. A small form is a placement benefit, not a ruggedness test. The source also does not report a health check for an individual unit. If buying used, confirm that the console recognizes the drive and that it reads and writes reliably, and review the seller's return terms before making it the only copy of a game library.
Compare it with other console storage only by exact model
In this reviewed set, this is the only exact configuration documented for the named PS4 family. The other Avolusion product is a separate 1TB model for Xbox One, One S, and One X, while the Seagate, LaCie, HGST, and Transcend products are documented for other connection or storage roles and do not have saved PS4 preparation evidence. Do not treat an unknown console value as a supported match. For general computer backup, begin with the host and operating-system requirements instead: this cached listing does not establish current computer OS support. For PS5 or Xbox use, find exact-model documentation for that console generation.
Verify the current offer and the individual drive
The current Amazon identity of B0848JYQBZ was not established, so use the tagged exact-model search and compare the full suffix, capacity, color, seller, and stated bundle. Do not assume a search result inherits the cached retailer page's cable, guide, or warranty language. The page is marked as an old cached snapshot; it supports the saved model facts but not current price, stock, or seller terms. For a used drive, check its label, console recognition, read/write behavior, and return conditions. No hands-on test, buyer-review summary, current offer check, or performance measurement is part of this review.
