Our take
Epson Home Cinema 3600e is a Full HD 3LCD projector built around flexible room installation and wireless source routing. Epson identifies native 1920 × 1080 resolution, 2,500 white and 2,500 color lumens, a 1.32–2.15:1 throw range, manual 1.6× zoom and horizontal/vertical lens shift. Its WirelessHD transmitter provides five HDMI inputs and can move compatible sources across the room; it is not an onboard streaming platform. The 250 W UHE lamp and large image range make it a fixed-room choice, with used lamp hours and included transmitter/glasses needing individual verification.
A fixed home-theater room that benefits from native 1080p, flexible optical placement and WirelessHD source routing.
It is not for near-wall ultra-short throw, native 4K detail, battery-powered use, or a buyer who needs Epson's white/color lumen figures to qualify as ANSI.
Pros & cons
What could work for you, and what to consider before buying.
What works in its favor
- Native 1920 × 1080 imaging and 2D/3D support cover a conventional home-theater source plan.
- A 1.6× manual zoom plus horizontal and vertical lens shift help align the image to a fixed screen.
- WirelessHD supplies five HDMI source inputs and integrated 2 × 10 W speakers.
What to weigh up
- The 1.32:1 minimum throw still requires conventional room distance rather than a wall-adjacent cabinet.
- The 2,500 white and color lumen figures use named methods other than ANSI.
- The 250 W lamp and wireless accessories make used-unit hours and package completeness important.

Full review: how the features affect your choice
What the features mean for you
Choose native Full HD for the screen and source
Epson identifies the Home Cinema 3600e as native 1920 × 1080 3LCD. That matches a common Full HD movie and video source without relying on an enhancement mode to describe the panel. It is still not native 4K, so buyers with a 4K panel requirement should compare another tier. Epson also documents 2D and 3D use, plus a 30–300-inch image range. A large maximum diagonal is not a promise that every room, surface or source will produce an equally bright and comfortable result.
Keep Epson's output methods separate from ANSI
Epson lists 2,500 lumens for both white brightness and color brightness, using ISO and IDMS methods. The figures are useful when read with those labels, but the checked specifications do not establish an ANSI-lumen rating. Do not substitute them into a filter that specifically asks for ANSI or compare them as if the method were interchangeable. Actual light on the screen also depends on lamp hours, image mode, zoom, screen size and room light. Ask for the unit's lamp-hour reading and view a test image when evaluating a used projector.
Use optical zoom and shift to plan the installation
The 1.32–2.15:1 throw range and 1.6× manual zoom provide room to size the image from a fixed projector position. Epson also specifies horizontal and vertical lens shift, which can move the optical image to align with a screen while keeping the chassis level. These tools help with a ceiling mount or shelf, but they do not turn the lens into an ultra-short-throw design. Measure lens distance, screen size and available vertical/horizontal shift before drilling or placing the unit. Leave service and airflow clearance around the lamp housing.
Understand the WirelessHD transmitter as a source hub
Epson's WirelessHD system uses a separate transmitter with five HDMI inputs to send compatible source signals to the projector. This can keep a cable cluster near a receiver or media shelf while reducing a long HDMI run. It does not add streaming apps by itself; a streaming device, disc player or console still supplies the content. Check the transmitter's presence, power, pairing and line-of-sight behavior on an exact used package. The built-in two 10 W speakers provide basic sound, while a dedicated receiver can better serve a larger theater.
Inspect the lamp and all included theater accessories
Epson specifies a 250 W UHE lamp, so remaining brightness and replacement history are unit-specific. Check lamp hours, startup, fan noise, focus, dust, lens shift movement and both HDMI signal paths. Verify that the WirelessHD transmitter and 3D glasses are included if they are part of your plan; an official product feature does not prove a used seller has the component. The manual documents external AC operation rather than battery use. Confirm the remote and power cables, and do not assume that an older wireless system will work with every current source without checking formats.
Compare for your needs
Sanyo PLV-1080HD is another native Full HD lamp projector with a stated 1,200 ANSI lumens and manual horizontal/vertical lens shift. Epson adds optical zoom and WirelessHD routing, while its 2,500 white/color figures use non-ANSI methods.
