Our take
The Home Cinema 3020e is an older Full HD 3LCD theater projector whose distinguishing package is 3D plus a separate WirelessHD transmitter. It suits a fixed movie room where those documented pieces matter; its lamp, brightness method, and source-specific wireless setup should be weighed against newer or simpler wired models.
A fixed home theater prioritizing Full HD 3D and wireless transmission from a separate source device..
Avoid it if you need native 4K, a built-in streaming service, UST placement, a verified ANSI brightness threshold, or a portable battery-powered system.
Pros & cons
What could work for you, and what to consider before buying.
What works in its favor
- Epson specifies native 1920 × 1080 3LCD and 16:9 imaging.
- The model supports 2D and 3D output and has two built-in 10 W stereo speakers.
- The 3020e package is documented with a WirelessHD transmitter for a separate video source.
What to weigh up
- The 2300 color and white lumen values use Epson methods rather than an ANSI label.
- A conventional 1.32–2.15:1 lens needs a measured screen-to-projector distance.
- The transmitter, glasses, lamp hours, and present unit condition must be checked on a used package.

Full review: how the features affect your choice
What the features mean for you
Full HD remains the native image
Epson specifies three 1920 × 1080 LCD panels in a 16:9 format. That gives the 3020e a clear Full HD home-cinema role, while 4K sources are not transformed into native 4K by the input connection. Epson also documents 2D and 3D output. A buyer choosing it for 3D should confirm the required source format and compatible eyewear, because the model feature does not prove that a used listing includes the relevant accessories.
Use Epson's output wording, not an ANSI conversion
Epson lists 2300 color and 2300 white lumens under its own measurement context. The model materials do not label those numbers ANSI, so the profile leaves ANSI brightness unknown. This is important when comparing it with the InFocus IN8606HD, whose datasheet gives an ANSI-labeled figure. The Epson number may be meaningful within its own method, but it should not satisfy a question that literally requires a certain ANSI rating. Screen size, mode, ambient light, and lamp age also affect the resulting image.
Plan the conventional throw
The manual gives a 1.32–2.15:1 throw range and 1.0–1.6× manual optical zoom. Work backward from the screen width to see whether the planned shelf or ceiling position falls within that range. The lens is not ultra-short-throw, so a close-wall requirement points to a different design. The saved packet does not establish optical lens shift; position the mount and screen carefully and do not assume that a digital correction control replaces the correct distance.
The e transmitter is a video bridge, not an app system
The 3020e package adds Epson's WirelessHD transmitter, which sends a source signal wirelessly to the projector. That can reduce a long video cable across a room, but the transmitter remains a separate source accessory and does not supply streaming applications by itself. The projector also lists HDMI and legacy video inputs, allowing a wired path when preferred. Confirm that the exact package includes its transmitter and that the intended source is compatible before treating wireless operation as part of the setup.
Inspect the lamp and included theater pieces
Epson lists a 230 W UHE lamp with up to 4000 hours in Normal mode and 5000 in Eco. Those are manufacturer estimates, not the lamp hours of the exact unit. The projector has two 10 W speakers, but a dedicated theater may use an external audio system. Before purchase, inspect lamp hours, panel uniformity, lens focus and zoom, ports, remote operation, transmitter power, and any 3D glasses separately. The model requires AC power and is a fixed-room product rather than a travel projector.
Compare for your needs
The InFocus IN8606HD keeps Full HD and 3D but has two HDMI inputs and an ANSI-labeled brightness rating instead of Epson's transmitter package. BenQ HT2550 adds a 4K UHD specification and 2200 ANSI lumens, while Formovie THEATER is the close-wall laser option with Android TV and a brightness-method caveat.

Before you buy
Is the 3020e native 4K?
No. Epson specifies native 1920 × 1080 panels and Full HD output, so it does not meet a native 4K requirement.
Are the 2300-lumen values ANSI?
Epson's color and white figures use its stated measurement methods and are not labeled ANSI in the checked model sources.
Does the 3020e have streaming apps?
No streaming-app platform is established; its e package uses a separate WirelessHD transmitter for an external video source.
