Our take
Epson's EX7210 is a 3LCD business projector with a native WXGA 1280 × 800 panel and 16:10 image shape. Epson lists 2800 white lumens under ISO 21118 and 2800 color lumens under IDMS, alongside 1.2× optical zoom, HDMI, USB slide playback and a 200 W UHE lamp. Those output methods should not be recast as ANSI. The projector's manual placement chart makes it possible to plan a 100-inch image at roughly 111–133 inches. It is an AC-powered presentation model, not a streaming device or cordless projector.
Business or education presentations with 16:10 content, AC power and wired HDMI/VGA/USB sources.
It is not a battery projector, a native Full HD home-cinema panel, or an ANSI-rated model under the figures checked here.
Pros & cons
What could work for you, and what to consider before buying.
What works in its favor
- Native WXGA 16:10 gives more vertical pixels than XGA for presentation slides.
- Epson separately reports white output under ISO 21118 and color output under IDMS.
- A 1.2× optical zoom, HDMI and PC-free USB slides support varied presentation sources.
What to weigh up
- The 2800 white/color figures are ISO/IDMS, not ANSI lumens.
- A 200 W UHE lamp needs service checks and its remaining hours are unit-specific.
- The 2 W speaker and legacy software path may not suit a large audience or current streaming workflow.

Full review: how the features affect your choice
What the features mean for you
WXGA provides a useful widescreen slide format
Epson identifies the EX7210's native resolution as 1280 × 800, a 16:10 WXGA panel. That layout can show more vertical content than a 16:9 image and provides more detail than XGA for spreadsheets, presentations and computer desktops. It is still below Full HD, so a buyer planning movie use should consider how much fine detail matters at the chosen screen size. Native resolution is the panel's pixel count; an accepted higher-resolution signal will be resized rather than turning the projector into a Full HD model.
Keep Epson's white and color methods distinct
Epson gives 2800 white lumens measured under ISO 21118 and 2800 color lumens measured under IDMS. Both figures are useful because they disclose measurement methods, but neither is presented as ANSI in the checked source. Do not convert them or rank the EX7210 directly against a product with an ANSI rating without a comparable test basis. The manual also shows lower ECO output. Ambient light, screen gain, lamp age and image size affect the practical result, so view the projector in the room where it will operate.
Optical zoom helps fit a measured room
Epson lists a 1.2× optical zoom and shows a 100-inch 16:10 image at approximately 111–133 inches of lens distance. That range gives some flexibility when a table or ceiling mount cannot move freely. Measure from the lens to the screen, account for the screen's height, and keep the projector square where possible. The zoom adjusts image size within its range but is not lens shift. Use the manual's distance table for the desired diagonal and inspect focus and keystone after the projector is positioned.
USB slides are a local source, not streaming
The EX7210 manual describes PC-free photo slideshows from a USB device as well as HDMI and computer connections. This can simplify a presentation when a laptop is inconvenient, but local USB playback is different from built-in streaming apps. An HDMI source remains the straightforward route for films, modern players or protected content. Check the exact ports and source formats before an event, particularly if the room uses a laptop with only USB-C. Plan for a separate sound system when the small built-in speaker cannot reach the audience.
Lamp maintenance affects long-term use
Epson specifies a 200 W UHE lamp and gives normal and ECO life estimates in the manual. Those original service estimates do not reveal how many hours remain in an individual used model. Check lamp hours, filter condition, cooling fans, color uniformity, startup, shutdown and the included remote and power cord. The projector is AC powered and weighs about 2.3 kg, so it can move between rooms but is not an independent cordless display. Inspect the lamp cover and confirm a replacement source before depending on it for a regular classroom schedule.
Compare for your needs
For Full HD films, compare a native 1920 × 1080 home projector. For bright-room comparisons, choose a model with a stated ANSI method or compare Epson's white/color figures only with matching ISO/IDMS sources.
