THE SHORT ANSWER

Our take

ELMO MX-P 1367-6 is a UVC visual presenter for overhead pages and objects, with USB 3.0 modes up to 4K30 and 1080p60, one-push autofocus and a white LED. It has no microphone, so plan audio separately.

Consider it for

Choose MX-P when a lesson, demonstration or small workbench needs pages and objects shown from above, and the host has USB 3.0 with separate audio available. It is less suitable for a simple face-first call where compact mounting and integrated microphone audio matter more..

Look elsewhere if

It is not a compact monitor webcam or an all-in-one conference bar. Its high-resolution USB modes depend on USB 3.0 and a capable host, and the checked sources do not document a physical privacy shutter or camera microphone.

Pros & cons

What could work for you, and what to consider before buying.

What works in its favor

  • The USB 3.0 table lists 3840×2160 at 30 fps and 1920×1080 at 60 fps in MJPEG and YUV formats.
  • One-push autofocus, a 100 mm-to-infinity focus range and a switchable white LED suit overhead material demonstrations.
  • UVC support and an included USB 3.0 cable create a direct computer-camera path without making a proprietary app the only option.

What to weigh up

  • ELMO confirms that MX-P has no microphone, so calls need a separate audio input.
  • USB 2.0 removes or slows several high-resolution modes; actual rates can also fall on a low-spec computer.
  • The folded visual-presenter body is more specialized than a small clip webcam, and the sources do not specify diagonal FOV or a privacy cover.

Documented video modesThe MX-P manual lists USB 3.0 MJPEG at 4160×3120/21 fps and 3840×2160/30 fps, with 1920×1080 and 1280×720 modes at 60/30 fps. USB 2.0 limits available modes and rates.
Focus and framingOne-push autofocus is documented with a 100 mm-to-infinity focus range. The arm and camera head are manually repositioned; no diagonal FOV or automatic subject tracking is stated.
Light and lens privacyA white LED illumination device is built in and can be switched on or off. A physical lens cover is not documented.
Integrated audioELMO USA says MX-P does not have a microphone. A playback speaker and cover-linked audio control are not documented.
Connection and mountingThe manual lists UVC over USB 3.0, a micro-B camera port and an included USB 3.0 cable. The tabletop arm folds; HDMI/RGB cables are not included, and USB use does not output over HDMI/RGB simultaneously.
Identity and setup limitsAmazon ASIN B07FW42P7J is mapped to ELMO MX-P part 1367-6. Keep it distinct from MX-P2, which is a different model with different audio details.

Full review: how the features affect your choice

What the features mean for you

Choose it to show pages and objects from above

MX-P is a visual presenter with a folding arm, camera head and stage, not a small webcam designed to clip onto a monitor. That physical arrangement suits teaching, product demonstrations and bench work where the subject is a page, object or tabletop rather than the speaker's face. The arm and camera head are repositioned by hand, which lets the operator compose an overhead view and then move the camera for a different subject. It does not provide automatic presenter tracking. For remote lessons, the camera's document-camera shape can be an advantage when students need to see handwriting or materials, but it occupies desk space and requires a separate plan for the person speaking.

Separate the high-resolution modes from the faster Full HD mode

ELMO's manual provides a USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 mode table. Over USB 3.0, it lists 4160×3120 at 21 fps in MJPEG, 3840×2160 at 30 fps, and 1920×1080 at 60 or 30 fps. The table also includes 1280×720 at 60 or 30 fps. These are distinct choices: the 4K UHD setting is not 60 fps, while Full HD has the faster listed rate. USB 2.0 does not expose several of the high modes and reduces the rate of others. ELMO cautions that computer performance can lower the actual frame rate, so a compatible USB 3.0 connection and capable host matter for the modes a buyer intends to use.

One-push autofocus helps, but the minimum distance is 100 mm

The manual documents one-push autofocus and a focus working range beginning 100 millimeters from the lens. The operator can tap focus after placing a page or object rather than adjusting a focus ring continuously. That is useful when alternating among materials at a lectern or desk, but it does not mean the system tracks a person as they move around. The minimum distance also matters for tiny details: an object closer than 10 centimeters falls outside the listed working range. The manual does not state a diagonal field angle, so imaging-area measurements should not be converted into a wide-view match. Frame size depends on how the arm and subject are positioned.

The built-in white LED supports close tabletop lighting

The MX-P manual identifies a white LED illumination device and gives the camera's LED an on/off control. A close light can help when the camera points down at a page or object, where room lighting may leave shadows from the arm or the operator's hands. Brightness is adjusted separately from automatic exposure, and the manual notes that exposure does not change automatically with the shooting environment. The light is therefore a useful integrated part of the document-camera setup, not a guarantee of a particular brightness or color quality. No physical privacy cover is documented; switch off the camera or cover the lens by another method when the presenter is not using it.

Plan for external audio and a separate privacy choice

ELMO USA's MX-P support page explicitly says that this model does not have a microphone and warns readers not to confuse it with the MX-P2. That distinction matters in a live lesson: the MX-P can send a UVC video stream to a computer, but the host needs a separate microphone or headset for the teacher's voice. The reviewed sources do not establish an integrated playback speaker or a physical cover whose position stops microphone capture. Because there is no MX-P microphone, privacy and audio input are separate decisions. This avoids transferring features from the related MX-P2 model and keeps the review tied to part 1367-6.

USB is the computer path; other outputs have separate limits

The manual calls MX-P UVC-compliant and includes a USB 3.0 cable with a micro-B connector at the camera and Type-A at the computer. In USB mode, video does not also leave through the HDMI or RGB ports. Those display connections are separate workflows, and their cables are not included. The package list includes the USB cable, power cord, quick-start guide and warranty card, with an AC adapter for North American and Japanese packages. The body folds for storage, but its opened tabletop footprint is much larger than a monitor clip. The manufacturer documents USB, HDMI and RGB rather than camera-native Ethernet or Wi-Fi viewing; host software compatibility still needs checking for a specific computer.

Compare for your needs

For manually focused object work very close to the lens, compare Stopmotion Explosion SMC02, whose maker lists 3 cm manual focus, 1920×1080 resolution and an internal microphone but no frame-rate table. For an overhead camera with a compact call setup, compare IPEVO VZ-R; its documented USB live ceiling is Full HD 30 fps, and its microphone is not established.

Before you buy

Does MX-P stream 4K video over USB?

Yes. ELMO's manual lists 3840×2160 at 30 fps MJPEG over USB 3.0; it separately lists 4160×3120 at 21 fps and lower USB 2.0 limits.

Does the MX-P support 1080p60?

Yes. The MX-P manual lists 1920×1080 at 60 or 30 fps over USB 3.0 in its MJPEG and YUV table.

Does MX-P include a microphone?

No. ELMO USA support says MX-P does not have a microphone and warns users not to confuse it with MX-P2.

Can it focus on objects very close to the lens?

The manual lists a focus range starting at 100 mm from the lens surface, so it is not specified for objects closer than 10 cm.

Does it include a USB cable and HDMI cable?

ELMO lists an included USB 3.0 cable. Its manual says the HDMI and RGB cables are not included; the AC adapter package depends on region.

Does the document camera provide live network viewing?

The checked material documents USB UVC, HDMI and RGB connections, but no camera-native Ethernet or Wi-Fi remote-viewing feature.
