Our take
Dangbei's DBX3 Pro is a laser home projector marketed for 4K UHD output, with a 1.27:1 conventional throw, a stated 40–200-inch range, autofocus, auto keystone and screen-fit functions, dual 10 W speakers, and onboard storage for apps. Dangbei's current brightness explanation uses an 1800 ISO-lumen figure; that is not an ANSI rating. The checked page does not provide a native pixel grid for the imaging chip, so this review does not call the panel native 4K. Its mix of automatic setup and integrated media suits a home room with enough depth and controlled light.
Home cinema and gaming where a conventional throw, controlled light, and an integrated source platform suit the room.
It is not a UST projector, a battery-powered device, or a model whose native imaging pixel count and current streaming-service compatibility are established here.
Pros & cons
What could work for you, and what to consider before buying.
What works in its favor
- Dangbei documents 4K UHD output and automatic focus, keystone, screen fitting and obstacle avoidance.
- The laser source and dual 10 W speakers suit a self-contained home-cinema role.
- A 1.27:1 throw and 40–200-inch range provide a published placement envelope.
What to weigh up
- 1800 ISO lumens should not be compared as ANSI output.
- The checked source does not specify a native pixel grid, so 4K output is not described as native 4K here.
- At 1.27:1, the projector still needs distance from the screen; automatic correction cannot create room depth.

Full review: how the features affect your choice
What the features mean for you
Separate 4K UHD output from native pixel count
Dangbei markets the DBX3 Pro as a 4K UHD projector, but the product source checked for this review does not identify the native pixel grid of the imaging device. A signal or displayed output can be 4K UHD without proving a native 3840 × 2160 panel. Keep that distinction in mind when comparing fine detail with models whose maker explicitly states native 4K. The projector's actual image quality also depends on focus, screen material, source quality and image size; a larger diagonal does not automatically create more panel detail.
Use the ISO brightness figure on its own terms
Dangbei's brightness explanation gives the DBX3 Pro an 1800 ISO-lumen figure. ISO is a defined method, but it is not the same label as ANSI and should not be converted casually. The product page's older marketing language may differ from updated figures, so retain the checked method and date rather than selecting the largest number. A home projector still looks better in a room with controlled ambient light, especially at a large image size. Compare the same measurement standard when shortlisting output, and check the exact device's modes and condition.
Measure a conventional 1.27:1 lens
Dangbei lists a 1.27:1 throw and recommends an image range from 40 to 200 inches, with 100 inches described as an optimal size. Its distance chart places a 100-inch image at about 9.19 feet. That is a conventional lens requiring room depth, not a projector that can sit immediately below the screen. Measure from the lens position and confirm the screen height, cables and ventilation clearances before choosing a shelf. Autofocus and keystone can simplify alignment, but they do not eliminate distance constraints or every geometric tradeoff.
Automatic setup helps but needs a clear surface
The product page describes autofocus, automatic keystone, screen fit and obstacle avoidance. These functions can reduce repeated manual adjustments when the projector is placed on a table or moved between suitable positions. Their result still depends on a visible, flat projection area and a scene the sensors can detect. Dangbei notes that curtains or uneven surfaces can affect auto correction. Check the final image edges and focus yourself before a film or game session, and avoid using digital correction to hide a placement that should instead be fixed physically.
Smart features and audio do not remove compatibility checks
Dangbei lists dual 10 W speakers, 4 GB RAM and 128 GB storage, and describes app access through its platform. Its FAQ discusses installing a streaming dongle and using apps or AirScreen, while current app support may change. Confirm the services, accounts, network and any required dongle before treating the DBX3 Pro as a television replacement. HDMI, USB and LAN connections offer external source options. Check the exact package, remote, firmware, ports, speaker operation and laser image uniformity on a used unit; listing copy cannot establish the condition of a particular projector.
Compare for your needs
For a measured native 4K comparison, choose a product whose manufacturer clearly states its native imaging resolution. For a shallow room, compare a true UST design with a published wall-distance chart.

Before you buy
Is the DBX3 Pro native 4K?
Dangbei markets 4K UHD output, but the checked page does not state the native pixel grid. This guide does not label it native 4K.
Are 1800 lumens ANSI?
No. Dangbei's updated brightness page labels the figure ISO lumens.
Can it sit close to the screen?
It has a conventional 1.27:1 throw and needs several feet of distance for a typical large image.
