THE SHORT ANSWER

Our take

The CBK-100 is a discontinued Cuisinart bread maker with a broader menu than its basic white, French, whole-wheat and sweet bread settings suggest. Its twelve programs include Gluten Free, packaged mix, Cake/Quick Bread, Dough, Pasta Dough, Jam, Bake-Only and Rapid Bake. Selectable 1 lb, 1.5 lb and 2 lb loaf sizes and three crust shades offer useful choices on eligible programs. A 13-hour timer, one-hour Keep Warm period and 15-minute power memory add convenience, with clear restrictions. It has no automatic dispenser, and the Rapid Bake course is a fixed-size option without a complete published runtime. Cuisinart currently marks the model discontinued and out of stock; present retail or Amazon availability is not verified.

Consider it for

Bakers who want a flexible fixed-menu machine and can follow the course-specific Rapid Bake and Delay Start limits..

Look elsewhere if

Not for buyers who need an automatic mix-in dispenser, a verified current offer, or a stated full runtime for Rapid Bake.

Pros & cons

What could work for you, and what to consider before buying.

What works in its favor

  • Twelve programs include Gluten Free, Dough, Pasta Dough, Jam and Cake/Quick Bread.
  • Three loaf sizes and three crust shades cover a range of batch preferences on eligible settings.
  • A separate paddle-removal alert, one-hour Keep Warm and 15-minute power memory are documented.

What to weigh up

  • Rapid Bake requires rapid-rise yeast, is fixed at 1.5 lb and Medium crust, and has no full cycle time in the manual.
  • There is no automatic dispenser; only four bread programs give a manual add-in reminder.
  • Cuisinart lists the model as discontinued and out of stock, and current offers are unverified.

What the features mean for you

A twelve-program menu

Cuisinart's product page identifies twelve preprogrammed options, and the linked manual names Basic/White, French/Italian, Whole Wheat, Sweet, Gluten Free, Packaged Mix, Cake/Quick Bread, Dough, Pasta Dough, Jam, Bake-Only and Rapid Bake. The distinction between programs matters: Cake/Quick Bread is a batter-style setting using baking powder, baking soda and eggs, while Dough and Pasta Dough are separate preparations. Jam is its own course. The recipe booklet includes low-carb recipes, some assigned to Basic/White, but the manual has no dedicated Low-Carb program. The maker-linked recipe book also includes Gluten Free recipes sized for 1.5 lb; those recipes and the named setting do not establish celiac-safe construction or cross-contact controls.

Three sizes and a restricted Rapid Bake

On eligible courses, the control panel supports 1 lb, 1.5 lb and 2 lb loaves with Light, Medium or Dark crust. Rapid Bake is an exception: it requires rapid-rise yeast and fixes the loaf at 1.5 lb with a Medium crust. The inspected manual does not provide a complete Rapid Bake runtime, so the program should not be treated as proof that a loaf can be finished within a particular short deadline. Bake-Only can be set in ten-minute intervals up to 90 minutes. Neither the product page nor the manual establishes whether the finished loaf is horizontal or vertical. Buyers should use each program's documented size and crust controls rather than assume all choices apply across the menu.

Delay timing has meaningful limits

Delay Start reaches 13 hours in ten-minute steps, but it is not a universal scheduling feature. The manual excludes Rapid Bake and discourages delay on Dough, Jam and Gluten Free. It also warns against leaving perishable milk, eggs, cheese or yogurt in the pan for a delayed start. The timer can help schedule an eligible bread cycle, but the recipe and ingredients still need to follow the manual's precautions. Keep Warm runs for 60 minutes after eligible baking cycles. The booklet separately says that Jam and Dough do not receive Keep Warm, so the user should not assume that every menu holds food warm after completion.

Manual mix-ins and two different pause features

The CBK-100 has no automatic ingredient dispenser. Instead, five beeps prompt hand-added mix-ins during Basic/White, Whole Wheat, French/Italian and Sweet programs. Gluten Free and Cake/Quick Bread ingredients are added at the start according to the manual. A different six-beep signal marks the optional paddle-removal point before the final rise; the machine pauses for up to 15 minutes before continuing unless stopped or reset. Separately, power-failure memory preserves the cycle stage through interruptions up to 15 minutes. Those two fifteen-minute features have different purposes: one is a user pause during normal baking, while the other is recovery after a short power interruption.

Care, model identity and refurbished variant

The parts list identifies one removable kneading paddle. The manual documents a nonstick pan and allows the pan and paddle on the dishwasher's upper rack; it excludes the removable lid. The pan coating material is not specified, and the exact machine dimensions were not found in the maker's inspected page or booklet. Cuisinart marks the CBK-100 discontinued and Out of Stock. Its official compatible-parts pages list CBK-100 and BMKR-200PC separately, which establishes shared accessory compatibility but not that the machines are aliases. Group 42's exact-suffix retailer listing identifies CBK-100SSFR as a factory-refurbished package containing the CBK-100 machine. The historical Amazon title says Renewed, and the condition labels do not verify the state of any current unit. The refurb listing's loaf-size copy conflicts with Cuisinart's manual, so the base-model manual values are used here.

Before you buy

What loaf sizes can it make?

The Cuisinart manual lists 1 lb, 1.5 lb and 2 lb on eligible programs.

Does it have a Gluten Free setting?

Yes. It has a dedicated program and the maker-linked recipe booklet includes 1.5 lb Gluten Free recipes; neither establishes celiac-safe handling.

How fast is Rapid Bake?

It requires rapid-rise yeast and is fixed at 1.5 lb / Medium, but the manual does not give a full cycle time.

Does it dispense fruit or nuts automatically?

No. Four bread programs provide a beep for manual add-ins; other recipes may require ingredients at the start.

Can I use Delay Start on every program?

No. Rapid Bake is excluded, Dough/Jam/Gluten Free are discouraged, and the timer should not be used with perishable ingredients.

Is CBK-100SSFR a separate machine?

The exact-suffix retailer listing identifies it as a refurbished package containing the CBK-100 base machine, so groups 41 and 42 share this feature profile.

Is the CBK-100 currently available?

Cuisinart currently marks it discontinued and Out of Stock. Current Amazon offers have not been verified.

Where can I check the current price?
