Our take
The BenQ X1300i is a home entertainment projector whose strongest buying case is the combination of native 1080p, a 3000 ANSI-lumen maker rating, and an explicit 1080p/120 Hz low-latency mode. Its standard throw and 1.2× zoom suit a measured fixed room, while the supplied QS01 Android TV dongle makes streaming a documented package feature. It does not provide native 4K panels, optical lens shift, or cordless operation, so choose it for its specific gaming and home-use trade-offs rather than its broad compatibility claims.
A fixed home gaming and entertainment setup where 1080p high-refresh responsiveness, ANSI-rated output, and external streaming are useful..
It is not a UST design, a native 4K projector, a battery model, or a fit for a room that requires optical lens shift or a very short throw.
Pros & cons
What could work for you, and what to consider before buying.
What works in its favor
- BenQ specifies native 1920 × 1080 resolution and a 3000 ANSI-lumen rating.
- The model page separates 8.3 ms at 1080p/120 Hz from 16.7 ms at 1080p/60 Hz instead of implying one response for every mode.
- The standard configuration includes a QS01 Android TV dongle, three HDMI connections, and two 5 W speakers.
What to weigh up
- The projector's imaging panels are Full HD; compatible 4K input is processed down to its displayed resolution rather than making it native 4K.
- Its 1.3–1.56:1 throw and absent lens shift require careful placement and are not suitable for every shallow room.
- The 4LED source and electronics use AC power; current streaming services, dongle presence, and a used unit's condition need checking.

What the features mean for you
Which gaming mode matches your console?
BenQ lists 8.3 ms input lag at 1080p/120 Hz and 16.7 ms at 1080p/60 Hz. The lower figure is attached to a particular source timing, not a guarantee for every game, connected device, or picture mode. Check that the console or PC can output 1080p at 120 Hz and that the HDMI path carries the intended signal. If your system is limited to 60 Hz, the other published value is the more relevant comparison. These are manufacturer specifications, not an independent latency test or a promise about an individual player's experience.
How useful is the 3000 ANSI-lumen rating?
BenQ explicitly labels 3000 ANSI lumens, which makes this model easier to compare with products whose maker uses the same label. Output still depends on image mode, room lighting, and screen surface; an ANSI claim is not an independent measurement of this sample. The DLP projector's 4LED source has mode-based rated life, but that life estimate does not establish how bright a used unit remains. Ask for a live image at the intended diagonal and inspect the optical path. For a large screen in daylight, a carefully controlled room may matter as much as the maximum model figure.
Will the throw range suit the room?
The 1.3–1.56:1 throw and 1.2× zoom define a conventional lens. BenQ gives a 100-inch image at about 2.87 metres, a useful anchor for checking the furniture layout. Measure from the lens to the screen rather than from the back of the cabinet, and leave adjustment room within the zoom range. The specification sheet says lens shift is unavailable. Automatic vertical and manual horizontal keystone can reshape a projected image, but that digital correction does not give the mechanical placement freedom of optical shift. For a cabinet beside a wall or an off-center ceiling mount, another design may fit better.
What comes with its streaming platform?
BenQ lists a QS01 Android TV dongle as standard equipment and describes Android TV, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Google Cast. That creates a documented streaming path, but a used offer may have lost the dongle or remote, so verify the actual package. App catalogs and service certification can change over time; check the services you need on the exact device instead of treating platform branding as a guarantee that every subscription will work. The dongle connects through the projector's internal HDMI port, while two external HDMI ports remain available for a console and another source.
What does the projector require to stay in service?
The 4LED light source is rated by BenQ for 20,000 hours in Normal and SmartEco modes and 30,000 hours in Eco, with the lamp not user-replaceable. Those are model estimates, not a warranty that an older projector has a particular service life remaining. The 6.4 kg body and typical 330 W consumption favor a permanent shelf or mount with ventilation. Test the remote, HDMI switching, game timing, focus at the edges, speakers, Wi-Fi, and included QS01 dongle. Its 100–240 V supply is standard AC power; the source materials do not describe a built-in battery.
What else to compare
Compare Optoma UHD38x for a higher-resolution home image and 1080p/240 Hz mode, or Epson Pro Cinema 6050UB for powered lens shift and pixel-shifted 4K home theater output.
Before you buy
Does the X1300i project native 4K?
No. BenQ specifies native 1920 × 1080; it accepts higher-resolution signals but the image panel is Full HD.
When does the 8.3 ms figure apply?
BenQ lists 8.3 ms for 1080p at 120 Hz; its listed 1080p/60 Hz figure is 16.7 ms.
Is Android TV included in the standard package?
BenQ lists its QS01 Android TV dongle as a standard accessory, but verify it is present with any used offer.
