Our take
The Artograph LED300 is a specialist digital art projector rather than a general-purpose home-theater model. Artograph's sheet lists native 1280 × 800, 300 lumens, a 30,000-hour LED source, and 18 projectable grids for composition and artwork layout. Its low weight and included media accessories support moving it between work surfaces, while the source does not establish an ANSI measurement basis or battery runtime. Compare it with Artograph's Inspire 1200 if Full HD, electronic focus, 32 grids, and documented battery operation matter more. The LED300 is a fit when its drawing aids are the central need and brightness can be judged conservatively.
Artists and designers projecting reference images or composition grids onto a drawing surface.
It is not for a confirmed ANSI brightness threshold, built-in streaming, large ambient-lit cinema screens, or buyers who need verified battery operation.
Pros & cons
What could work for you, and what to consider before buying.
What works in its favor
- Artograph specifies native WXGA 1280 × 800 resolution for the LED300.
- Eighteen projectable grids support layout and composition tasks beyond ordinary movie viewing.
- The product sheet lists an LED source rated for 30,000 hours and a 1.8-pound weight.
What to weigh up
- The 300-lumen claim is not identified as ANSI and should not be converted.
- The source does not establish an internal battery or an integrated streaming platform.
- Its art-reference role is not directly represented among standard home, presentation, and classroom filters.

What the features mean for you
Grid overlays are the defining buying reason
Artograph's LED300 product sheet describes 18 projectable grids that can overlay a photo or other reference image. That makes it useful for tracing, composing, and laying out a design on a canvas or wall, where the projected guide is part of the work rather than only a video picture. The source lists grid choices, color adjustment, and an edge-enhancer feature. These details distinguish it from an ordinary projector whose manual only explains image display. The art-focused role should be considered separately from home cinema and business slides. If you need a projector for movies first, a general home model will usually offer a more relevant resolution, sound, and brightness comparison.
WXGA is useful, but not Full HD
The LED300 sheet specifies 1280 × 800 native pixels in a 16:10 format. That is a wide computer image suited to digital references, while it remains below 1920 × 1080 Full HD. The sheet says it can take images from digital sources, but the input format does not increase its native pixel count. For artwork, the right resolution depends on the size of the reference, the line detail that needs to be traced, and the distance from the surface. Keep focus even across the image and size the projection so the guide marks remain visible. The Artograph Inspire 1200 offers native Full HD if a finer reference image is a higher priority.
Treat 300 lumens as an unqualified claim
Artograph advertises 300 lumens for the LED300 but the saved product sheet does not label that figure ANSI. It should therefore remain outside the finder's comparable ANSI-lumen field. Do not convert it or compare it as though it used the same method as the TW330's 2200 ANSI rating. The art sheet recommends projection on a range of surfaces, but actual room light and projection size affect visibility. A darker studio and moderate image size are prudent conditions when detail matters. Since the product is a legacy model, also inspect the image output and LED operation in person if evaluating a specific unit; the historic rating does not describe current condition.
Plan focus, distance, and source connections
The product sheet identifies a fixed focal-length lens with manual focus and lists HDMI, VGA, composite, and USB. It also describes a multi-card reader and computer cables in the package. Those inputs can connect a laptop, camera, or local-media source, while USB and card playback are not the same as streaming apps. The saved material does not document a throw ratio or battery runtime, so leave both placement and battery attributes unknown. Measure the distance and surface size, then check focus over the complete drawing area. Keep an outlet and power supply available until cordless operation is established by exact-model documentation.
Compare it with the Inspire 1200 for art work
The Artograph Inspire 1200 is another released art projector with 32 documented grids, native 1920 × 1080, electronic focus, and a rated internal battery. The LED300 weighs 1.8 pounds and has 18 grids, while its source gives WXGA resolution and no battery runtime. The Inspire's brightness is stated in lux rather than ANSI, so neither model has a settled ANSI rating in the saved evidence. Choose by the artwork size, grid workflow, native detail, focus control, and whether battery operation is required. This comparison is deliberately limited to the two Artograph models whose manufacturer material documents art-specific grids; other projectors may still display an image but are not shown here as grid-equipped tools.
What else to compare
For an art projector with documented native Full HD, electronic focus, 32 grids, and a battery rating, compare the Artograph Inspire 1200.
Before you buy
Is the LED300 native Full HD?
No. Artograph specifies native WXGA 1280 × 800; input compatibility does not change that resolution.
Are the 300 lumens ANSI?
The product sheet does not state an ANSI method, so the figure remains a generic 300-lumen claim.
What do the built-in grids do?
Artograph documents 18 overlays that can help artists lay out or trace a projected reference image.
