Our take
Aquarium Masters AM11005 is a compact standard glass aquarium whose manufacturer page gives a model number, approximate capacity and outside dimensions. That is enough to compare it as a five-gallon-class tank, but not as a complete starter kit. A separate maker page identifies a compatible 16 × 8-inch AM31608 glass canopy. The frozen row title names a tank-and-canopy offer, yet neither maker page links historical ASIN B0B75PB1WW to that bundle. Use the model number and dimensions to investigate the tank; verify every current seller component before treating it as a ready-to-run package.
A buyer looking for a small standard glass aquarium who can verify the exact seller package and obtain any desired canopy, filter, light and stand separately..
Not for a buyer who needs ten gallons or more, a documented filter or light in the box, a verified stand or kit, or a confirmed current Amazon tank-and-canopy package.
Pros & cons
What could work for you, and what to consider before buying.
What works in its favor
- The manufacturer identifies SKU AM11005, UPC 7-49729-11005-7, and a 5.5 Regular model label.
- The same maker page gives 16.2 × 8.4 × 10.5-inch dimensions and approximately five gallons, useful for a small-space comparison.
- Aquarium Masters lists AM31608 as a compatible 16 × 8-inch glass canopy, so the matching accessory can be checked by its own model code.
What to weigh up
- Approximately five gallons is a maker estimate, not a measured operating-water volume; the 5.5 label does not mean 5.5 usable gallons.
- The standard-tank page says canopies and lights are available but does not say they are included with AM11005; filtration, heater and stand are also unverified.
- The historical title's tank-plus-canopy bundle and ASIN are not crosswalked to a current exact Amazon offer.

What the features mean for you
Match the AM11005 code, not just the size label
Aquarium Masters identifies the product as its 5.5 Regular Aquarium and gives SKU AM11005 and UPC 7-49729-11005-7. The same entry reports dimensions of 16.2 × 8.4 × 10.5 inches and an approximate capacity of five gallons. The frozen source row uses a 5-gallon, 16 × 8 × 10-inch description but does not show this maker SKU. Those close dimensions and the Aquarium Masters brand make AM11005 a plausible model match, while they do not prove the historical ASIN or seller bundle. Compare the printed AM11005 label and the actual outside measurements before ordering; a similar footprint alone can fit another model or package.
Treat five gallons as an approximate listing value
The manufacturer's model name says 5.5 Regular, while its capacity field says approximately five gallons. The review preserves both facts instead of turning the model label into a precise water measurement. Water depth, gravel, décor and equipment change operating volume, and the source does not measure a filled setup. The listed 16.2-inch length, 8.4-inch width and 10.5-inch height are more useful for an initial shelf or stand check, but they are outside dimensions rather than a support rating. The maker page does not give filled weight, so use current manufacturer guidance for the intended surface.
The evidence supports a glass tank, not a full kit
Aquarium Masters places AM11005 among its standard aquariums and describes that product line as glass. Its standard-page overview mentions distortion-free glass and black silicone for the range, with diamond-polished edges included in most aquariums. The item entry itself does not itemize a filter, lighting, heater, lid or stand for AM11005. The maker says glass canopies and lighting systems are available, which describes options rather than a guaranteed box list. If the goal is a one-box setup, this page does not supply enough detail to plan one. A bare-tank buyer can instead compare separate compatible equipment after confirming fit.
AM31608 is a compatibility clue, not proof of inclusion
The separate Glass Canopies page names AM31608 as a 16 × 8-inch canopy and lists it as fitting AM11005 and AM11011. This confirms a maker-listed accessory relationship. It does not show that a canopy is packed with every AM11005, and it does not map the frozen historical ASIN B0B75PB1WW to an exact box. The row title says one aquarium and one glass canopy only, but the indexed retailer page did not provide readable detail to verify that bundle. Check both the tank SKU and canopy SKU on a current listing, and confirm whether the listed item is a combined offer or two separate products.
Plan filtration and lighting separately until a seller confirms them
The standard aquarium page says the tank line can be used with hang-on-back, internal and canister filters, and that lighting systems are available. It does not name a specific filter or lamp as included with AM11005. That distinction matters in a compact tank: the chosen equipment affects clearance, outlet planning and the room left inside the tank, but no source here gives a compatible filter model or a performance result. The profile therefore leaves filtration and lighting unknown. It also does not turn an absent package list into proof that the seller ships no equipment. Ask for the exact parts list before budgeting or setup.
Where AM11005 fits among the reviewed choices
The maker's approximate five-gallon value and glass classification put AM11005 in the compact glass comparison, not the ten-gallon-minimum glass list. It differs from Lifegard R460012, whose maker page lists a 5.44-gallon low-iron rimless tank and insulation pad, and from the acrylic five-gallon Koller PanaView kit, whose saved listing includes a hood, filter and LED. Those comparison points explain the AM11005 trade-off: its model dimensions and compatible canopy are documented, while a full equipment bundle is not. It does not meet the current finder's sump or wall-mount requirements, and unknown equipment is not treated as a match.
What else to compare
For a compact glass tank with documented listing detail, compare Lifegard CRYSTAL R460012, listed at 5.44 gallons with low-iron beveled glass and an insulation pad. Koller PanaView AQ15005 is a different five-gallon acrylic kit whose saved listing names a hood, filter and LED. Those included-part claims belong to their own sources and do not carry over to AM11005.

The decision
AM11005 is a source-identified small glass tank with an approximately five-gallon maker listing, exact outside dimensions and a separately compatible glass canopy. Choose it only after confirming the seller's model code and box list. The historical tank-plus-canopy ASIN is unresolved, so the tagged Amazon search helps locate a possible current offer without claiming an exact match.
