Assessment scenario: Earlier sealed in-ear earbuds without ANC

An editorial assessment scenario for an earlier, sealed in-ear model documented without active noise cancellation. Check the actual seller package and condition; this is not a statement of visitor intent or current stock.

Why consider this model?

  • Sony USA identifies WF-C500 as truly wireless, and Sony's model-specific guide documents closed, tip-equipped earbuds worn in the ear canal. Sony's current U.S. product guidance says this older model has no ANC, matching a no-ANC requirement without making a personal-fit claim.
  • The model manual documents Classic Audio SBC and AAC plans and explicitly says there is no multipoint connection. This can help distinguish simple one-source listening from a phone-and-laptop switching need.

Tradeoffs to weigh

  • Sony describes the model as older; no current stock, price, seller, warranty, exact offer or battery condition is verified.
  • The manufacturer maximum is up to ten hours of music per charge, but the manual says EQ and DSEE shorten runtime and settings change use. An older battery can perform differently; no independent battery test was made.
  • Sony specifies USB Type-C cable charging. Wireless charging is not established in the sources checked, so the finder does not treat this record as meeting either an essential wireless-required or USB-C-and-no-wireless case condition.
  • Sony documents IPX4 for the earbuds and says the charging case is not water resistant. This is not a waterproof, immersion or swimming claim.
