Assessment scenario: the original unnumbered MOMENTUM True Wireless Black, M3IETW article 508524, is an earlier sealed-tip model with no documented ANC, earbuds-only IPX4 and a wired USB-C case. The manual's four-hour playback figure is not an ANC-runtime claim, and the present condition of any older battery is unknown.

Assessment scenario: Earlier sealed earbuds, no ANC, IPX4 buds and USB-C case
An editorial assessment scenario for the original MOMENTUM True Wireless Black article 508524: sealed-in-ear, no documented ANC, IPX4 earbuds, and a USB-C case without documented wireless charging. It is not a statement of visitor intent, seller condition, or current stock.
Explore this buying guide ↗Why consider this model?
- The exact U.S. product route identifies the unnumbered first-generation model, article 508524; its product JSON has one Default Title variant, and Sennheiser marks it end of life.
- The original M3IETW manual describes ear-canal coupling, four silicone adapter sizes, and a USB-C input on the case. It assigns splash-proof IPX4 to earbuds only, does not document a water rating for the case, and does not document wireless case charging.
- The source set describes Transparent Hearing but no active ANC mode. Its four-hour ordinary music claim cannot satisfy an ANC-runtime minimum; its codec list and one-source Bluetooth plan are also not a guarantee of host negotiation or two-device use.
Tradeoffs to weigh
- Sennheiser identifies the exact product as end of life and says non-warranty service is unavailable for article 508524. These facts do not establish that every independent repair is impossible, but they make the seller's condition, service route and return terms important.
- Approximately four hours of earbud operating time and up to two additional case-recharge cycles are manufacturer specifications, not observed results or a prediction for an older battery. No codec-specific or ANC-on duration is documented.
- The earbuds are IPX4; the manual does not give the case an IP rating. Do not infer case resistance, waterproofing, swimming suitability or safe wet charging.
Check these before ordering
- Match M3IETW Black article 508524 and variant 45465126437147, not MOMENTUM True Wireless 2 or any later numbered generation; check that both earbuds and the M3IETW C case belong together.
- Ask for clear photos of both Black earbuds, the fabric-wrapped charging case, the USB-C input/cable and the supplied XS/S/M/L adapters; the manual's original package list does not prove a particular seller's contents.
- Ask the seller to demonstrate charging, pairing, touch controls and the expected battery behavior; verify return terms and any warranty or repair promise. No offer, battery condition, current stock or price was checked.
- Keep the case dry and do not treat the earbuds' IPX4 rating as case protection. If ANC, ANC-on runtime, Qi case charging or simultaneous two-device connection is essential, this exact model does not document that requirement.
