An editorial assessment scenario for Sennheiser MOMENTUM Free Special Edition (M2 IEBT SW SE, U.S. article B508698): an earlier sealed in-ear neckband whose family manual lists SBC and no ANC. Its six-hour A2DP maximum is not SBC-specific; the manual is not SE-specific, and the maker does not explain a unique SE benefit or carton. This is not a statement of visitor intent, present stock or an older battery condition.

Assessment scenario: Earlier sealed SBC neckbands without ANC
An editorial assessment scenario for someone who permits earlier models, wants a sealed in-ear fit, excludes active ANC and selects SBC over Classic Audio. It is not a statement of the visitor’s intent, a fit guarantee or evidence of live availability.
Explore this buying guide ↗Why consider this model?
- The exact U.S. product page and JSON identify B508698 as an end-of-life Special Edition; the exact image shows canal-tip earpieces connected by a neckband rather than independent case-based earbuds.
- The M2 IEBT SW family manual lists SBC over Bluetooth Classic Audio and describes ordinary Bluetooth pairing without an ANC mode; that family-level evidence is used with the explicit limit that the manual is not SE-specific.
Tradeoffs to weigh
- The family manual gives up to six hours of A2DP music but does not assign that figure to SBC; it separately lists up to 8.5 hours HFP talk. Neither is independently measured or a prediction of an old unit battery.
- No ANC runtime, IP water rating, sweat/splash rating, charging case or wireless case charging is documented. Micro-USB is on the neckband; the carry case is not a charging case.
- The family manual describes a most-recent-host reconnection path and up to eight remembered profiles, not a two-simultaneous-host Multipoint plan. The product page does not establish the Special Edition unique carton or functional delta.
Check these before ordering
- Match the exact Sennheiser MOMENTUM Free Special Edition / M2 IEBT SW SE / B508698 identity; do not substitute the separate MOMENTUM Free Black article 507490 based on the family name or a generic photograph.
- Ask the seller to identify the actual headset and verify whether the adapters, Micro-USB charging cable and leather carry case are present; the family-manual list is not an SE-specific carton guarantee.
- For an old or new-old-stock offer, verify battery condition, seller return terms, warranty and repair representation. The exact Sennheiser service page says economical non-warranty repair is unavailable; no current stock is implied.
- Confirm that the host supports the codec you plan to use. Up to eight stored profiles does not establish two live connections, and the six-hour figure is not ANC or codec-specific runtime.
