An editorial assessment scenario for Sennheiser MOMENTUM Free Black (M2 IEBT SW, U.S. article 507490): an earlier sealed in-ear neckband documented with SBC and no ANC. The six-hour figure is a generic A2DP claim, not a codec-specific or ANC runtime; this is not a statement of the visitor’s intent or current availability.

Assessment scenario: Earlier sealed SBC neckbands without ANC
An editorial assessment scenario for someone who permits earlier models, wants a sealed in-ear fit, excludes active ANC and selects SBC over Classic Audio. It is not a statement of the visitor’s intent, a fit guarantee or evidence of live availability.
Explore this buying guide ↗Why consider this model?
- The exact M2 IEBT SW manual identifies ear-canal coupling with replaceable ear adapters; the cable links both earpieces to a neckband rather than a charging case.
- The manual lists SBC for Classic Audio and the U.S. manufacturer page marks article 507490 end of life, supporting this earlier-inclusive, sealed, SBC, no-ANC scenario without treating the model as current.
Tradeoffs to weigh
- Sennheiser gives up to six hours in A2DP music mode but does not assign that maximum to SBC specifically; it is not independently measured and cannot predict an old unit’s battery health.
- The reviewed manual does not document ANC, an IP water rating, a charging case or two simultaneous host connections. Its six-hour A2DP claim is not ANC runtime.
- This is a cable-linked neckband with Micro-USB charging, not a fully separate true-wireless earbud pair or a USB-C/wireless charging-case system.
Check these before ordering
- Match the exact black M2 IEBT SW / MOMENTUM Free article 507490; do not assume the different M2 IEBT SW SE article 508698 or M2 IEBT family has the same listing identity.
- Ask the seller to identify the headset, Micro-USB charging cable, ear adapters and leather carry case; a product photograph alone does not prove package completeness.
- For used or new-old-stock units, verify the actual battery condition, seller return window, warranty and any repair representation. Sennheiser says economical non-warranty service is unavailable for this model.
- Check that the intended host supports the required Bluetooth codec and has a usable Micro-USB charging route; up to eight remembered profiles do not establish two live-device Multipoint.
