Explore this buying guide ↗Why consider this model?
- Samsung lists a sealed fit with S/M/L ear tips, ANC and Ambient Mode.
- The USB-C case is documented without wireless charging, making it a functional difference from the two Buds4 family cases.
- Samsung's US published figure is six hours of ANC-on music per charge; shared SM-R420 technical evidence lists AAC, SBC and Samsung Seamless Codec.
Tradeoffs to weigh
- Three sizes do not guarantee a personal seal or comfort; try them in both ears within the return period.
- The ANC-on figure is a manufacturer maximum without codec-specific runtime evidence.
- IP54 applies to the earbuds only, not the case. The cable and charger are not included.
- The SM-R420 family codec table does not list LC3. Galaxy Auto Switch requires compatible Galaxy devices/account setup and is not documented as multipoint. No hands-on test was performed.
Check these before ordering
- Match Black SM-R420NZKAXAR and confirm the exact included case/tips.
- Plan for a USB-C cable and charging adapter because the cable is not included.
- Treat the case as unrated for water and dry its contacts before charging.
- Verify Galaxy app and account requirements if device switching or app features matter.
