Assessment scenario: Earlier open-ear ANC with a wireless charging case
An editorial assessment scenario for an earlier open-ear configuration with documented ANC and wireless case charging. This is not a statement of the visitor’s intent, current stock or seller condition.
Explore this buying guide ↗Why consider this model?
- Apple identifies the exact ANC earbud family and A3059 case, and says this wireless case fits the ANC earbuds rather than standard AirPods 4.
- Apple lists open-ear ANC, Adaptive Audio and Transparency; it also lists USB-C, Qi and Apple Watch case charging and a speaker for Find My.
- The published battery maximum is up to four hours with ANC on per charge and up to 20 total with the case, matching the four-hour assessment scenario.
Tradeoffs to weigh
- Apple’s current AirPods 4 shopping route resolves to AirPods 5; this page does not establish that any listing remains available, new or warrantied.
- The open fit is not sealed and personal stability and ANC effect were not tested. A feature listing does not establish how well cancellation works for an individual.
- The ANC maximum is four hours per charge. Apple lists five hours with noise control off, not with ANC.
- No audio codec or generic two-source Bluetooth multipoint is confirmed in the reviewed specifications. IP54 is not waterproofing and does not permit swimming or showering.
Check these before ordering
- Match earbuds A3056/A3055/A3057 with Wireless Charging Case A3059; the standard A3058 case is a non-wireless, non-ANC package and is not interchangeable.
- Verify whether the seller’s exact case supports your charger: Apple documents USB-C, Apple Watch and Qi for A3059.
- Check seller, item condition, included documentation, current return terms and warranty; do not infer availability from an older model page.
- Compare the four-hour ANC maximum with your own session length and settings; battery figures vary and were not independently measured.
- Try the open-ear fit during normal movement within the return window and follow Apple’s IP54 drying instructions.
