Assessment scenario: Earlier 22999: two slices in a long slot with a Bagel control
A specific earlier-inclusive assessment of the U.S. Hamilton Beach 22999 / T146: one 10-inch long opening for two regular slices or one long slice, plus a Bagel time-extension button. The exact maker page says NO LONGER AVAILABLE; the link does not promise an offer.
Explore this buying guide ↗Why consider this model?
- The exact U.S. product page names model 22999 and the directly linked Use & Care guide identifies 22999 / Type T146; the page is marked NO LONGER AVAILABLE, so the finder includes it only when earlier models are allowed.
- The page describes one extra-long 10-inch opening for two regular slices or one long slice, plus self-centering guides. This is a two-slice plan, not four independent slots or a guaranteed maximum loaf dimension.
- The linked guide documents a separate Bagel button that adds time after a cycle begins and a manual Toast Boost lifter for retrieval; the guide does not specify a Bagel heater sequence.
Tradeoffs to weigh
- Hamilton Beach marks the exact 22999 page NO LONGER AVAILABLE. A search or archived listing does not promise current stock, an exact package, condition, seller, returns or warranty coverage.
- No usable aperture width/depth, maximum slice length, maximum food thickness or bagel size is published. Measure the actual bread against the exact opening.
- The control list has no dedicated Frozen/Defrost program or automatic frozen sensing. The maker page names frozen waffles, but the manual cautions against frozen prepared and nonbread items; follow the exact guide.
- The 15.9-inch body depth is a published outside dimension, not working clearance, loading space, outlet reach or rear crumb-tray access. The guide warns against enclosed appliance/storage spaces.
- The printed one-year U.S. warranty is conditional on its written terms/proof of purchase; it does not decide eligibility for used or old stock. The bounded recall screen is not a full model/series check.
Check these before ordering
- Confirm the exact model 22999 and Type T146 rating label; do not merge it with 22989, earlier 22994 or another suffix/package.
- Compare your actual bread or bagel shape to the opening. The 10-inch statement is nominal slot length, not a maximum-slice or thickness guarantee.
- Read the supplied 840372800 guide for Bagel use and frozen-food warnings; do not infer the cut-face heating pattern from another toaster.
- Measure the 7.5 H × 4.6 W × 15.9 D-inch body and separately allow safe operation, loading, cord routing and sliding-tray access.
- For any old-stock or used offer, verify unit condition, included parts/manual, seller and return terms, warranty eligibility and the exact model/series against current recall information.
