Assessment scenario: Earlier 22702: two slices with digital shade, Bagel and Defrost controls
Assessment scenario for the exact earlier U.S. Hamilton Beach 22702 when two openings, nine numbered shade choices, Bagel and a user-selected Defrost control matter. The maker says NO LONGER AVAILABLE; the frozen-food wording conflicts across the product page and linked booklet. This is not a present offer or the visitor’s inferred intent.
Explore this buying guide ↗Why consider this model?
- The exact U.S. maker page identifies model 22702 as a two-slice digital toaster with two conventional openings, nine numbered shade choices, Bagel, Defrost, Cancel and Toast Boost.
- The exact page lists a 7.78 H x 6.83 W x 11.17 D inch outside body; these dimensions permit only a body-screen comparison, not slot fit or working clearance.
- The page-linked instructions describe the Bagel cut-side-in placement and a user-selected Defrost control; the 22702 review separates this evidence from performance or food-size promises.
Tradeoffs to weigh
- Hamilton Beach marks the exact page NO LONGER AVAILABLE; this is not an offer, stock, condition, completeness, return or warranty promise.
- The exact-page-linked 840253902 booklet does not print model 22702 or a model-specific electrical rating. Do not transfer voltage/wattage from 22702-CN or another toaster.
- The page’s frozen-waffle/pancake example conflicts with the booklet’s warning about frozen prepared foods; follow the exact unit instructions and do not infer unrestricted frozen-food suitability.
- Slot aperture, maximum bread/food size, material grade and required clearance remain unknown; measure the actual unit and counter.
- The bounded maker recall-index review is not an individual serial/series clearance.
Check these before ordering
- Verify a clear bottom-label photo for the exact U.S. base code 22702 and compare the appliance rating label with applicable instructions; do not rely on a regional suffix or neighboring model.
- Inspect the exact appliance, model label, opening condition, lifter, shade display, controls and crumb tray; verify seller identity, included items, return route and warranty terms before a transaction.
- Measure the exact appliance and bread separately; allow manufacturer-required ventilation, cord routing, loading space and tray access beyond the published body dimensions.
- Follow the manual for food selection and Defrost; because the page and linked booklet conflict about frozen prepared food, do not rely on generic frozen-food claims.
- Check the current official recall information against the unit’s actual label. The research here is a bounded maker-index review, not a unit-specific safety clearance.
