Explore this buying guide ↗Why consider this model?
- An eight-bay desktop NAS plan for a home lab or small office that needs native drive room, ECC memory by default, and the option to add a supported 10GbE or 25GbE network card.
Tradeoffs to weigh
- The built-in ports are 2.5GbE; faster networking requires a compatible optional card. The chassis is larger and heavier than Synology's smaller desktop units, and DX525 expansion hardware, drives and M.2 SSDs are separate.
Check these before ordering
- Confirm the exact model, generation, size and configuration in the offer.
- Compare your selected requirements with the detailed review before ordering.
