Why consider this model?

  • A source-based current-reference fit for a buyer who wants six native SATA positions in a desktop tower, two built-in individual 2.5GbE links and room for optional PCIe or M.2 expansion. QNAP's current software options document QTS and QuTS hero alternatives with RAID 1 as a buyer-created two-drive plan; drive choice and storage setup remain the buyer's work.

Tradeoffs to weigh

  • The unexpanded built-in network ceiling is 2.5GbE per port, not 5GbE aggregate for one client; faster PCIe cards are separate. The current selector does not list 2.5-inch SATA HDDs although the 2021 guide does, and the guide's tower dimensions and weight differ from the current selector. Verify exact drives, memory and full installation clearance before purchase. No live offer, included disks, prebuilt array or independent performance result is claimed.
