A 2U QES enterprise NAS with 24 native 2.5-inch SAS positions, SATA drive use through a model-specific adapter, dual active-active controllers and built-in 10GbE SFP+ links. Exact drive compatibility and the installed QES version need confirmation.

Why consider this model?

  • A documented enterprise QES NAS for a planned 24-position 2.5-inch SAS installation that can use a compatible single 10GbE link and a separately configured two-drive mirror.

Tradeoffs to weigh

  • Its 2U, 51.59 lb rack chassis and specialized 2.5-inch drive path are far removed from a simple home appliance; SATA drives require QDA-SA3, exact drive compatibility remains unbridged, and QNAP's public QES version statements conflict.
