- A current-reference four-bay NAS scenario for a buyer who wants four native SATA positions, a possible owner-created two-drive RAID 1 arrangement that uses two positions and leaves two free, and an individual built-in 2.5-Gigabit Ethernet port. Its four M.2 positions are a separate storage layer.
Tradeoffs to weigh
- The manufacturer package lists no data drives or configured array. RAID 1 is a user-created layout rather than an included feature setup, consumes two of four native SATA bays, and is not an independent backup. Exact drive/firmware approval and seller package terms remain unverified. The fastest built-in Ethernet port is 2.5 Gbps; an optional 10GbE PCIe card is not a built-in port and the datasheet says its installation requires removal of the M.2 daughterboard.
