Assessment scenario: Rechargeable lamp that clips onto a suitable support
An assessment scenario requiring a documented clip-on arrangement. The shared Black CSR07G5W-SHPR and White OTTCSR0708C Switch assessment describes an included clip and magnetic detachable head; the instructions give no clip-jaw range or guaranteed fit on a particular surface.
Explore this buying guide ↗Why consider this model?
- The official manual describes the same magnetic light head attaching to the included desk base or the clip for a suitable support; it also documents handheld use.
- The manual identifies an internal 1,200 mAh rechargeable battery and USB-C operation, supporting a moveable light arrangement. It does not publish a run-time figure.
- OttLite publishes CRI 95+ and three touch-selected brightness levels for this model; neither claim is an independent light-output measurement.
Tradeoffs to weigh
- The product page and manual do not state the clip-jaw range, the thickness of a compatible desk or shelf, or the clearance needed behind that surface.
- The USB-C cable is listed but a power adapter is not included; battery runtime and charge time are not specified.
- The manual says the integrated light source is not user-replaceable. The reviewed source material does not establish a battery-service route or a 500-lux coverage width.
Check these before ordering
- Match Black SKU CSR07G5W-SHPR or White SKU OTTCSR0708C and the corresponding exact finish image; do not confuse the White retail SKU with the shared manual-family code CSR0700C.
- Confirm that the exact offer contains the base, pole, clip and USB-C charging cable; a USB power adapter is not included.
- Check the actual support surface and cable route because the manufacturer gives no clip-opening measurement.
- Check current seller, return and service terms without treating this assessment as a stock or price statement.
