Assessment scenario: Adult gravel ride with Spherical/Mips
An assessment scenario for an adult gravel rider with a 57 cm measured circumference who specifically wants the documented Spherical/Mips system. The guide range suggests a Medium starting point; it cannot establish comfort or a personal fit.
Explore this buying guide ↗Why consider this model?
- Giro explicitly lists road cyclists and gravel riders for the Helios Spherical family.
- The page documents Spherical Technology powered by Mips and dual-density Progressive Layering.
- The S/M/L guide places 57 cm within the 55–59 cm Medium interval; the product lists a Roc Loc 5 Air fit system.
Tradeoffs to weigh
- The product page lists CE EN 1078 but does not provide an explicit CPSC statement in the captured certification field.
- Giro describes large vents but does not give a numeric count or comparative cooling test.
- A circumference guide cannot establish the rider's head shape, comfort or exact secure fit.
Check these before ordering
- Match Helios Spherical style 100000000300000129 rather than a similarly named Giro model or a different generation.
- Inspect the exact US helmet label and instructions if CPSC is a required standard.
- Try the Medium against Giro's instructions and return terms; do not infer fit from the chart alone.
- Check current recall notices and avoid used products with unknown crash histories.
