For the current-only 57 cm trail/CPSC assessment scenario, the captured 4Forty Mips S/M/L chart puts the measurement in both M and L rows. White / M SKU BL-7203810 is the observed configuration; it is a chart screen to try on, not a size recommendation or live offer.

Assessment scenario: Bell 4Forty Mips: trail/CPSC assessment at 57 cm
Assessment scenario only: a trail rider at 57 cm requires documented US CPSC evidence and keeps earlier models out. Bell's chart places 57 cm in both the 4Forty Mips M (55–59 cm) and L (58–62 cm) rows; the observed White / M SKU is one selectable configuration, not a personal fit result. This is not a claim about the visitor's actual intent.
Explore this buying guide ↗Why consider this model?
- Bell's exact US style-068 page and MTB directory identify 4Forty Mips and describe its trail-oriented use; the page states US CPSC compliance for persons age five and older.
- Bell's model-specific 4Forty Mips chart records M at 55–59 cm and L at 58–62 cm. At 57 cm those chart rows overlap; a size-range match is not evidence that either size fits a person.
- The exact page lists Mips Evolve, Float Fit, an adjustable visor, No-Twist Tri-Glides, Sweat Guide and a goggle gripper; these are maker-described design details, not personal fit or test results.
Tradeoffs to weigh
- The observed row is White / M, SKU BL-7203810. Other size/color combinations are not the observed configuration; confirm the exact size and try on the helmet rather than relying on the chart alone.
- The exact page shows an XL selection, but the saved 4Forty Mips model chart has no XL circumference boundary. This assessment does not infer one from another helmet or chart.
- The captured US style-068 page does not list ASTM F1952 downhill certification; trail-category wording is not a downhill-specific certification claim.
- The 380 g Medium figure is manufacturer-reported, not independently measured. The dated Bell/CPSC model-name screen does not establish an individual unit's history, condition, label, authenticity or later recall status.
Check these before ordering
- Confirm the exact US style 100000000500000068 and the White / M SKU BL-7203810 if that is the intended offer; do not treat another size or color as the observed configuration.
- Measure as Bell directs, check the correct exact-model chart and try on the helmet with its retention system adjusted; 57 cm falls in overlapping M/L bands and does not select one.
- Inspect the physical CPSC label, condition, package and return terms. Check current recall information and do not infer a full-face or removable chin-bar kit from the trail model name.
- Treat Mips Evolve as the exact page's design label, not a Spherical/Mips claim, crash outcome or substitute for any applicable course/equipment rule.
